Virgin Media Business Broadband Deals
Virgin Media Business runs its own cable and full fibre network. That means speeds up to 2Gbps in the areas it covers, without relying on Openreach.

Virgin Media Business Packages Explained
-
Voom 200
The entry tier. 200Mbps down, 20Mbps up, on a dynamic IP.
Best for a small office or shop with a handful of users, card payments and cloud email. Fault response is 28 working hours, the slowest in the range. If you cannot trade without a connection, look at the tier above.
-
Voom 400
400Mbps down, 40Mbps up. Fault response drops to 24 working hours.
A static IP is available here as a paid add-on rather than being included. Worth checking if you run a VPN, a card terminal that needs a fixed address, or remote access to an on-site server. -
Voom 600
600Mbps down, 60Mbps up, with a static IP option and a 20-working-hour fault response.
This is where most multi-user offices land. Enough headroom for video calls across a full team while backups run in the background. -
Voom Gig1
1Gbps down, 100Mbps up. Fault response tightens to 12 working hours.
Built for busy sites with heavy cloud use, large file transfers or a lot of connected devices. The step up from Voom 600 is as much about the fault response as the speed. -
Voom Gig2
2Gbps down, 200Mbps up, on Virgin Media Business full fibre. The fastest tier, with the same 12 working hour fault response as Gig1
Virgin Business Broadband Bundle Offers
Every Voom tier can be taken as broadband only, or as a bundle with a phone line.
The bundle adds three things:
-
- A digital phone line. Calls run over your broadband connection rather than a traditional copper line.
- Constant Connect. A 4G back-up that takes over automatically if the fixed line drops.
- F-Secure internet security.
One limitation is worth knowing before you buy. Constant Connect backs up your broadband, not your voice service. If the line drops, the phone line goes with it.
Bundles are also where the value sits if you still run a phone line. Taken separately, the same three services cost more.
Why Compare Virgin Media Business With Us?
Thanks to our exclusive partnership with Virgin Media Business, we offer great deals with fast internet speeds for UK businesses. Whether you're interested in high-speed broadband, phone lines, or other connectivity products, you’ve come to the right place.
Virgin Business Internet Speeds Explained
Advertised speed is the headline number. The one that matters more is the minimum guaranteed download speed.
Virgin Media Business has signed Ofcom's Business Broadband Code of Practice. Under that code, providers give you a speed estimate before you buy and a minimum guaranteed access line speed. If your download speed falls and stays below that minimum, and the provider cannot fix it, you have a right to exit the contract without penalty.
Virgin Media Business sets its minimum guaranteed download speed at half the advertised speed, across the whole range. A Voom 600 line is guaranteed at 300Mbps. Voom Gig1 is guaranteed at 500Mbps.
Upload is the other number to check. On the standard Voom tiers, upload runs at roughly a tenth of download. If you back up to the cloud, host your own systems, or run a lot of video calls, that gap will show.
Virgin Media Business also offers a symmetrical full fibre range, where upload matches download. It costs more and availability is narrower, so check your address before you plan around it.
What speed does your business actually need?
Most businesses buy more speed than they use, and less resilience than they need.
Work it out from what your team does at the same time, not from headcount. A ten-person office running email, cloud accounting and card payments needs far less than a five-person studio moving video files. Video calls are the usual pinch point, because they use upload as well as download.
A rough guide:
-
Voom 200 handles a small team on email, web and cloud apps, with card payments running alongside.
-
Voom 400 and Voom 600 suit an office where most of the team is on video calls at once, or where backups run during the working day.
-
Voom Gig1 and Gig2 are for heavy file transfer, a lot of connected devices, or a site that cannot afford to slow down at peak.
Then check the fault response against the same question. If an hour offline costs you orders, a faster line with a 28-hour response is the wrong trade.
Virgin Business Wifi
Every Voom package includes a router with guest wifi built in. That lets you run a separate network for customers or visitors, kept apart from the network your business systems sit on. Useful in a cafe, a salon, a waiting room, or any site where the public connects.
Guest wifi is a router feature, not a managed wifi service. If you need full coverage across a warehouse, several floors or a large venue, that is a separate conversation about access points and cabling.
And wifi speed is not line speed. A gigabit line still slows at the far end of a building. If coverage is the problem rather than the line, more speed will not fix it.
Getting the most from Virgin Business Wi-Fi
A few things make more of a difference than the package you pick.
-
Position the router centrally and high, away from metal shelving, thick walls and anything that holds water. A router in a stock cupboard will underperform a slower line in an open office.
-
Keep the guest network separate and locked to its own password. It protects your till systems and your data, and it stops visitor traffic competing with yours.
-
Use a wired connection for anything fixed and critical. Card terminals, tills and desktop machines are more stable on a cable.
-
If coverage drops off at the far end of the building, the answer is access points, not a faster package.
Test the speed at the router first, then at the point where people complain. If the two are far apart, the line is fine, and the wifi is the problem.
Switching to Virgin Media Business
Switching is simpler than most businesses expect, but the timing matters.
Check your current contract end date before anything else. Leaving early usually means paying out the rest of the term, which can wipe out the savings. If you are inside the last few months, start now. Getting a new line installed takes longer than a renewal.
Where Virgin Media Business is not already at your premises, the connection is a new install rather than a transfer, so build in lead time.

Virgin Business Fibre and the Voom Network
Virgin Media Business owns and runs its own network. Most UK providers resell Openreach. Virgin Media Business does not, across its own footprint.
Where Virgin Media Business has built, it can deliver speeds and pricing that Openreach-based providers cannot match. Where it has not built, you cannot buy it at any price.
Voom is the brand name for the cable tiers. The full fibre tiers run fibre directly to your premises.
This is why the address check comes first. Coverage sets your shortlist before price does.
Virgin Media Business vs the Alternatives
Virgin Media Business is not competing on the same terms as most of the panel. The difference starts with the network, and everything else follows from it.
Virgin Media Business vs Openreach providers
Most business broadband in the UK runs over the Openreach network. BT, and the majority of providers you will compare, buy access to the same infrastructure and differentiate on price, service and add-ons.
Virgin Media Business does not. It built its own.
What that means in practice:
-
Coverage. Openreach reaches almost every business address in the country. Virgin Media Business reaches its own footprint and nowhere else. This is the first thing to check and the most common reason a Virgin quote is not on the table.
-
Top speed. Virgin Media Business runs to 2Gbps. Openreach full fibre tops out lower in most areas, though it is closing.
-
Competition on your street. Where both are available, you have genuine leverage at renewal. Where only one is, you have less.
Virgin Media Business vs a leased line
Voom is shared bandwidth. You are sharing capacity with other users in your area, which is why the speed is quoted as "up to" and why a minimum guaranteed figure exists at all.
A leased line is not shared. You get the same speed in both directions, all the time, with a contracted fix time rather than a response time.
It costs considerably more. For most small and medium businesses, Voom Gig1 with a 12-working-hour fault response is the sensible answer. If your revenue stops when the connection does, price a leased line before you rule it out.
Is Virgin Media Business Broadband Good?
For over 20 years, Virgin Media Business has been supplying UK businesses of all sizes and has built one of the best full-fibre networks in the country. With speeds of up to 1,000 Mbps, you will be hard-pressed to find a more competitive business broadband deal.
Virgin Media Business Summary
Best for: any business that wants fast cable broadband and performance even in peak hours.
Network: operates on its own cable network providing full-fibre broadband.
Broadband speeds: range from 100Mbps up to 1Gbps (1,000Mbps).
Contract lengths: 24 months up to 36 months.

Why Choose Virgin Media Business?
There’s a lot to like about Virgin Media Business, and they offer some of the fastest speeds available on the market without the investment in a leased line.
-
Fast speeds - great for video calls, large file uploads, and point-of-sale systems on steady fibre lines.
-
Multi-device performance - known for multi-device support for VoIP, card machines, streaming and file transfers.
-
Service level agreements - a strong range of service level agreements and fix times depending on the broadband deal chosen. These are anywhere from 12 hours to 28 hours of fault fix time.
Potential Downsides of Virgin Media Business
-
Contract lengths - other providers offer more flexible contract lengths. Those customers may prefer BT Business.
-
Availability - they do not currently operate in all areas of the UK.
Virgin Media Performance
| Advertised download speed | Up to 200Mbps | Up to 400Mbps | Up to 600Mbps | Up to 800Mbps | Up to 1Gbps (1,000Mbps) |
| Minimum speed guarantee | 100Mbps | 200Mbps | 300Mbps | 400Mbps | 500Mbps |
| Ofcom measured peak time speed (8-10 pm) | 197Mbps | 408Mbps | 602Mbps | 796Mbps | 1,044Mbps |
Typical Virgin Media performance is high based on Ofcom data during specific measured peak-hours. However, businesses that operate at other times in the day may get different speeds. Speeds can vary by location.
Virgin Media Business FAQs
-
What is the minimum guaranteed speed on Virgin Media Business broadband?
Half the advertised download speed across the whole Voom range. Voom 200 is guaranteed at 100Mbps, Voom 400 at 200Mbps, Voom 600 at 300Mbps, Gig1 at 500Mbps and Gig2 at 1,000Mbps.
Virgin Media Business has signed Ofcom's Business Broadband Code of Practice. That gives you the right to leave without penalty if your download speed drops below the guaranteed minimum and stays there after the provider has had a chance to fix it.
-
Can I get a static IP with Virgin Media Business?
Yes, from Voom 400 upwards. Voom 400 offers a static IP as a paid add-on. Voom 600, Gig1 and Gig2 offer a static IP as part of the package. Voom 200 is dynamic IP only.
You need a static IP if you host services on-site, run certain VPNs, or use equipment that has to be reached at a fixed address.
-
What is Constant Connect?
Constant Connect is the Virgin Media Business 4G backup. If your fixed line drops completely, it switches you to 4G and alerts the faults team, so they start investigating while you stay online.
It comes with its own router, a SIM and unlimited data on the back-up connection. It is included as standard in the Voom phone bundles, and available as a paid add-on with broadband-only packages, with a one-off install charge per site.
It backs up broadband only. It does not back up your phone line.
-
How quickly does Virgin Media Business fix a fault?
Fault response depends on your tier, and it is a commitment to respond rather than a fixed time. Voom 200 is 28 working hours. Voom 400 is 24. Voom 600 is 20. Gig1 and Gig2 are both 12.
If downtime costs you money, the fault response deserves as much attention as the speed.
-
What contract lengths does Virgin Media Business offer?
12, 24 or 36 months. The 12-month term carries a higher monthly price than 24 and 36.
Longer terms bring the monthly cost down and fix your price for longer. Weigh that against how likely you are to move sites.
-
Does Virgin Media Business offer matching upload and download speeds?
Yes, through a symmetrical full-fibre range. The standard Voom packages are asymmetric, with upload at roughly a tenth of download.
The symmetrical range matches the two. It costs more and availability is narrower, so check your address before you plan around it.
-
Does Virgin Media own O2?
Virgin Media and O2 operate together as Virgin Media O2, a joint venture between Liberty Global and Telefónica, cleared by the Competition and Markets Authority in 2021.
Business broadband is still sold under the Virgin Media Business brand. There is a separate Virgin Media O2 Business brand covering wider business services.
-
How do I complain about Virgin Media Business?
Start with Virgin Media Business directly, by phone, through its online form, or by post. It aims to respond to an online or email complaint within five working days, and to acknowledge a letter within 48 hours, with a target of resolving inside 28 days.
If your complaint is still unresolved after six weeks, or you receive written confirmation that it cannot be settled, you can take it to Ombudsman Services, the independent adjudicator. That route is free for businesses with 10 employees or fewer.
-
Is Virgin Media Business broadband available at my address?
Only if the Virgin Media Business network reaches your premises. It is not a national Openreach-based service, so availability varies street by street, and full fibre coverage is narrower than cable.
An address check is the fastest way to find out. If it does not reach you, we will quote the providers that do.
-
What happens when my Virgin Media Business contract ends?
Your service does not stop. Your price changes. Once the term is up, you usually roll onto a standard rate, which is typically higher than the one you signed.
Track your end date and compare before it lands. myHUB records your contract end date and alerts you ahead of renewal, so you are not moved onto a higher rate by default.
